Floral Workshop
Learn two styles of the art of lei making. First, Hui Poloei style: a lei made for the neck by using a sewing technique that strings flowers together in a straight-line. Next, the old fashioned Wili-style Haku lei: this is a lei for the head made by winding the flower and plant materials with natural fibers. Lois Hiranaga, a floral design artist, is known throughout the islands for her artistic and design excellence. Learn more about her on www.loismauigirl.com. Every participant will receive sufficient amounts of flowers and materials to make both styles of leis. Show off your creations at the district dinners later that evening!
